On the evening of Fri, Oct 11, 2024 – Sat, Oct 12, 2024, Israel’s most Holy Feast day, Yom Kippur will begin. On that evening, a comet not seen by our generation, and according to scientists, not seen by Mankind dating all the way back to Adam and Eve, Noah and the ark, or any living thing created by God, will be visible by the naked eye in the hemisphere over Israel. Scientists claim that Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) has not been seen in the heavens since some 80,000 years ago.
Why is this significant? Because oral and written tradition in Judaism claims and states that Noah was given a sign in the heavens that may have indicated God’s wrath was about to be poured out upon mankind, and instructed him to build the ark. That sign according to written and oral tradition was depicted as a falling star, or what we call a Comet scientifically today. It was visible by the naked eye, and Noah would have been able to see it, as the instructions given to him by GOD to build the ark were given.
In case you do not know, this day the comet can be seen in nearly 80,000 years just so happens to fall on a day known in Judaism as the day of repentance and atonement. Yom Kippur is one of the two High Holy Days, or Days of Awe (Hebrew yamim noraim), alongside Rosh Hashanah (which falls nine days previously).[12] According to Jewish tradition, on Rosh Hashanah God inscribes each person’s fate for the coming year into the Book of Life, and waits until Yom Kippur to “seal” the verdict.[13] This process is described dramatically in the poem Unetanneh Tokef, which is recited on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur:
A great shofar will be blown, and a small still voice will be heard. The angels will make haste, and be seized with fear and trembling, and will say: “Behold, the day of judgment!”… On Rosh Hashanah it is written, and on the Yom Kippur fast it is sealed, how many will pass and how many will be created, who will live and who will die, who in his time and who not in his time… But repentance, prayer, and charity remove the evil of the decree… For You do not desire a person’s death, but rather that he repent and live. Until the day of his death You wait for him; if he repents, You accept him immediately.
During the Days of Awe, a Jew reflects on the year, goals, and past actions, how his or her behavior has possibly hurt others and seek forgiveness for wrongs done against God and against other human beings.
However, the significance of these days, known as the 10 days of Repentance through Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur have a huge impact on Christians around the world who await for the return of Christ. It is through these last 10 days of feasts, that when Christ ascended into heaven, he did so just before these days would take effect..Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Tabernacles. It is therefore plausible and one may in fact believe, that Christ would return on a specific day set forth by his Father, and a day to fulfill the final 3 feasts upon his return. Although Christ stated no man knows the day nor the hour, he also would be referring to a time frame that no man whom he has spoken to would not know the day nor the hour. However, we are told by Christ to watch, and pray, to be diligent to the signs that will be forthcoming, and to know that our redemption draweth nigh.
There is no question surrounding Jesus’s statements regarding the signs in the heavens before he returns. And, I also believe very strongly that GOD would use those same signs to warn those of us who will be here on this earth upon the return of Christ to be ready, and to send a sign to the world that once again Judgment is coming to a sinful, wicked and violent world. We also need to be mindful that Israel’s enemies will be watching the heavens, and will see this sign as a possible day to attack Israel. It’s happened before on Yom Kippur. In 1973, on Yom Kippur, Israel was attacked by a coalition of Arab nations and Israel won that 6 day war. That same day when the war started, it was the 10th day of Ramadan, a muslim holy day of vengeance and war.
We read in the book of Revelation that during the 7 year Tribulation period, GOD will have marked 144,000 Jews, 12,000 from each tribe of Israel. Those that have that mark and identifier will be protected from the wrath of God being poured out upon the world, while a multitude that John could not count will be praising and singing a new song to the lamb in heaven. These 144,000 are marked just before the 6th seal is opened, describing a great earthquake and cosmic signs in the heavens.
GOD is a GOD of divine order. Nothing happens by happenstance or coincidence. The events that happen in his time and appointment with mankind happen by divine order. And the heavens are a significant communication tool that GOD has used since the creation of this earth and Mankind, to indicate warnings and appointments that he has with mankind. The entire world will be able to view this comet…something that hasn’t happened in a very long time. What are the odds, that a comet, described in Revelation as a cosmic sign in the heavens, written about in oral and verbal tradition among the Jews, proclaimed about by Christ himself in Matthew Chapter 24 would be visible on Yom Kippur in 2024 and is a sign never seen before by our generation on that day?
Will this be a significant warning of Judgement coming from GOD? Would he use the High HOLY Feast Day of Atonement known as Yom Kippur to communicate to a wicked world that they need to repent? And will there be anyone paying attention to it when this happens? Could GOD be screaming at us to REPENT and seek him NOW?
I suggest, that we as Christians prepare ourselves for what may be one of the most significant events we have ever witnessed happen, and by all means, lift up our heads..for our redemption draweth nigh.
