More than 100 Palestinians have been killed and some 700 others wounded after Israeli troops opened fire on hundreds waiting for food aid southwest of Gaza City, health officials say, as the besieged enclave faces an unprecedented hunger crisis.
The Gaza Ministry of Health said on Thursday said at least 112 people were killed and more than 750 wounded, with the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemning what it said was a cold-blooded “massacre”. The ministry said the attack was part of Israel’s ongoing “genocidal war”. It called on the international community to “urgently intervene” to forge a ceasefire as “the only way to protect civilians”.
But is this the truth? According to Israeli IDF sources, the majority of those killed were ran over by Trucks carrying food and aid, when crowds rushed the trucks and attempted to loot the supplies. IDF soldiers report that warning shots were fired to disperse the crowds, that triggered the drivers to move onward attempting to get the swarm of people under control. IDF soldiers reported that many civilians were ran over by the moving trucks when this happened. Drivers of the humanitarian trucks have been assaulted and brutally beaten with trucks attempted to be stolen from them, resulting in fewer and fewer aid trucks getting into Gaza.
